The Journey so far…

Hi all our family and friends. Those dreams of blogging the trip haven’t materialized quite yet…

Hopefully you have been able to follow along on our adventures on Instagram@ Tanimaltravels. If you haven’t, join us! We try to post pictures pretty regularly so you can see what we are experiencing.

Our journey has shown us many truths that have continued to resonate as we move from place to place...

Stay near water- we have found that we have the best success when we have water near us. It could be the pounding ocean, a clear blue lake, a flowing river, or even a pool. The water draws us in. We have swum, jumped, fished, crabbed, built beach- rock sculptures, relaxed sore muscles in hot tubs. Water is the key.
Get out and explore beyond the regular- That mercado in Healdsburg was a great example- we wandered in and we were the only non-English speakers in the entire store. The food was better than anything we could have gotten in town at ¼ the price. We spotted the water slide while driving to see what the river had to share.

To recap the trip so far-

We started in July in Tahoe, spending two weeks in our familiar stomping grounds- river rafting, catching crawdads, and a new on this year- heading out on the Lake with our friends the in our respective boats and watched the fireworks from underneath.

We finally left our house on August 5. The journey so far has taken us to 4 states- California, Oregon and Washington and now Hawaii.
